Beauty Products That Should Be Refrigerated

Hello Fashionistas!!!

Sorry I haven't posted at all this week. I've been really busy at my internship, and I've felt terrible. I went to the doctor earlier, and I received my latest nerve block injection. I must say, I am feeling so much better. Thank you all for your well wishes.

I usually plan my posts out in my blog planner for the week, but since this week has been a little hectic, I didn't really have anything planned, but I really wanted to post something for you all. While doing some browsing of great things that I've tried that many people don't know about, I came up with, Beauty Products That You Should Keep Refrigerated. By keeping some products refrigerated, you will get the full effect and benefits of them, making a more beautiful and healthier you.

Beauty Products That You Should Keep In Your Refrigerator

1. Eye Cream or Gel

Many people wake up with puffy eyes due to fluid pulling into the under-eye area while you're sleeping, especially if you've had a salty dinner. While others, like me, suffer from seasonal or year round allergies. By storing your eye cream/gel in the refrigerator, you can deflate your under-eye bags more quickly in the morning. Cold constricts blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling.

2. Sunscreen

Post-summer if you have an unused or partially used bottle of cream or spray sunscreen, place it in the fridge. A warm environment lessens the effectiveness of the SPF so it won't protect your skin as well, if at all, the next time you use it.

3. Anti-Acne Products

Many dermatologist prescribed medications, such as Clindamycin and Tri-luma should be refrigerated. The formula won't be as effective is stored improperly.

4. Anti-Itch Cream

If you're suffering from an allergic reaction or a bug bite, the body can't sense itchiness and coldness at the same time, so if your skin is itching, apply a cold anti-itch cream to it. The cooling sensation will win out over the itching.

5. Nail Polish

Sunlight and heat can cause the formula of nail polishes to thicken and often times alter the color. By storing your polish in the fridge, the paint stays thin, and the true color is preserved.

6. Fragrance

If your fragrance is exposed to too much light and heat, the chemicals will start to break down altering the smell.

7. Liquid Makeup

This includes everything from foundation to liquid liner. Once the products are opened, they all have an expiration date. To make them last longer, store them in the fridge. This also applies to products that are unopened.

8.Lipstick

Your everyday lipstick doesn't need to be stored, but if your favorite products is being discontinued and you want to stock up, they'll last a lot longer if stored in the fridge. Otherwise, heat could cause the chemicals to break down and decompose over time, altering the shade of the lipstick.

9.Natural/Organic Products

Since organic products don't contain parabens, preservatives, sulfates, and other harsh chemicals that make other products last longer, natural products must be stored in the fridge so that they don't spoil. This lengthens their shelf life and keeps bacteria from building up.

Did you ladies already know these beauty tips? Which products do you store in your refrigerator?

  2. Hi Breaya, sorry to hear you were not feeling well, it must be hell ((((B))) Glad you got your injection.
I agree with everything except perfume, the fridge is too cold and it's as bad as heat is. A cool room yes but definitely not the fridge. It kills the perfume. Perfume has to be stored, cool, dark and dry! Leave it in it's box, store it in your closet, in a cool room with only slight variation in temperature.

    1. Hi, Lenya!! Thanks a lot, I'm doing so much better now. :)

I had no idea about the perfume. I always only place mine in the fridge during summer and it always works out well, but I guess it also depends on what setting you have your refrigerator on as well. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you had an amazing weekend.

      xoxo,

    2. Hi Breaya hope you are feeling well? Just like heat the cold too takes it time to *upset* the perfume. Sorry I didn't meant to sound like a know-it-all but if you have like me quite a collection of perfumes they should last as long as possible. Anyway was just popping in to wish you a happy Sunday.
